LHP Stuart Baruth has emerged as the #1 pitcher for the Minnesota Blue team this fall and winter season (2014-2015) as he started out the season throwing a complete game no-hitter striking out 13 in ScoutStop's Labor Day Tournament.  He followed that outing up by throwing a complete game (3-2 win) against Chicago Elite (Perfect Game Kernels Tournament) striking out seven and allowing two earned runs against a roster full of 18 Division I commits.

Baruth, who sits 82-86 and runs it up to 87 at times, commands his four-seam fastball and cut fastball to both sides of the plate.  His delivery begins with a high leg kick and stabs down and behind his back creating a deceptive delivery and a hard-to-pick up release point.  His CV has tight break and depth and he throws it for strikes when he is behind in the count to both RHH and LHHs.  His cutter, which he mainly throws to RHHs is a developing pitch while his CH is an average fourth pitch which he sparingly uses but does the job against RHHs.

His ability to limit the running game is the top our Blizzard program has seen.  His pick-off move - especially to first base - is outstanding and has a knack for shortening innings by picking off many would-be base stealers.  He fields his position well, makes accurate throws and is quick off the mound.

Baruth is a solid prospect, a great teammate and has the ability to be freshman contributor in college.
