Day 1 Recap

The first day of the 2nd annual Scout Stop Tournament was a rainy one, but action packed. Every team is hoping for a great day tomorrow because every win matters for advancing to the next round. Things will heat up tomorrow as more games need to be played tomorrow and there is a lot that can happen in one day. Day one was a great day of baseball with a lot of talented players in the tournament and many players coming through for their teams.

18U Division

The big winners on the day in the 18U division were the loaded Blizzard Blue team with convincing 5-0 and 11-2 wins. The Blizzard Blue are in control of pool A. The other big winner in the 18 U divisions was The Pine Tar Fire out of pool D. They won two tough games on the day.

Player of the Day from 18U Division: Connor Moroder of the Wisconsin All-Stars. Connor had a huge day for his team as they push to advance to the next round. In two games Connor put on a display going 4-6 with 1 single, 2 doubles, and a triple. Connor also drove in two runs.

16U Division

In this division two teams stood out from the rest today, although some teams were rained out and unable to play their second game. The Wisconsin All-Stars took two games in the opening day to hold control of pool A. They won two really tight games at 5-2 and 4-3. A win is a win as they were able to come out on top of both of their games. Blizzard Black came out with big wins at 19-2 and 10-5. Both were big time wins for a very talented team.

Player of the Day from 16U Division: Matt Arens of the Minnesota Mash Black was 3-7 on the day with 4 RBI. Matt had 1 single, 1 double, and a triple on the day. Matt had some competition from his teammate Zach Parks for this honor but got the honor due to his 4 RBI.
