Day 2 Scout Stop Showcase Recap

Day 2 of the Scout Stop tournament continued with some impressive teams and players that shined. After a day of rain on day 1 of the tournament, there was a lot of sun and many games to be played. With most teams in contention day 2 was a crucial day for teams to get wins and earn points to win their pool and advance into the next round of the tournament.

18U Division

Blizzard Blue, Iowa Sticks White, Wisconsin All-Stars, and Northwest Elite all control their pool. Three of those teams are still unbeaten. All have hopes alive for winning the title. The separation has begun with the teams and the competition in this division will continue to heat up as the best will move on.

Player of the Day from 18U Division: Blizzard Blue’s LHP Stuart Baruth threw a gem today as he no-hit the MAP baseball team. Baruth struck out 13 on the day and helped his team take command of Pool A.

16U Division

Blizzard Black has won pool B and will advance. Blizzard 15U control their pool as well. Pool A is in a tight race for the top team to come out of that pool. Big games ahead to nail down the pool winners. Sunday will be a huge day for this division.

Player of the Day from 16U Division: This honor is changed to a group. It must be recognized sometimes when multiple kids come through on a team. The Blizzard 15U team had two really tough games today and only gave up 2 ER on the day and only have 3 ER on the tournament. Hats off to this pitching staff and the teams defense for holding opponents to 1 ER per game.
