St. Paul Saints Stadium, CHS Field, to host ScoutStop events on June 16th, 18th and July 1st and 2nd

CHS to host several ScoutStop and Minnesota Blizzard events this summer, fall

CHS Field, the newly built $30 million dollar St. Paul Saint's stadium, will also play host to several ScoutStop and Minnesota Blizzard events this summer.

The sleek-looking architectural ball park is a work of art that fits snugly into lowertown St. Paul.  The open concourse is underneath club level seating made for the fan experience enclosed by walls of glass complete with great seats overlooking the stadium.  The all-natural turf with a darker brown infield that even matches the colors of the wood in the stadium is a surface that will rival even Target field.  Complete with bullpens in the outfield, a huge scoreboard and big league dugouts, CHS Field is a venue that will give you goosebumps when you walk into it for the first time.

The difference with this field - players in our programs will actually get to play on it.

"I'm about as excited as I've been in a long time with the venues we get to play at this summer," owner Adam Barta said.  "To offer our players a first-class event means many things and it starts with a quality product and a big part of that is venue.  The players are going to get to experience something that a lot of players rarely have a chance to do - play on a professional field."

MIDWEST SUMMER SHOWCASE - June 16th, 2015

ScoutStop will hold their longest-running summer event - the Midwest Summer Showcase on June 16th - a showcase that will feature the top 2016 and 2017 prospects in Minnesota and the Midwest.  Players will run through a typical major league tryout including timed runs, batting practice, defensive work and bullpens.  All players will receive a recruiting profile - a personal player page that will include video from the showcase, results and reports.

Last year, ScoutStop had over 40 scouts attend their summer workout including several pro scouts.  Attendance from college and pro teams are expected go up even more with the popularity and results from past workouts.

"The workouts we hold are efficiently run, have no wasted time but allow all the players get their due shot in the spotlight," Barta said.  "With the caliber of players we continue to attract, it is an event that all the scouts know about and look forward to in their summer."

WHITE SOX AREA CODE GAMES - June 18th, 2015

Coupled with ScoutStop's Midwest Showcase is the addition of the Chicago White Sox Area Code tryout on June 18th at CHS Field.  For the past several years, the Chicago White Sox have had workouts in Indianapolis, Oklahoma and Illinois to pick players for their White Sox Area Code team - a roster of 20 players that play in one of the largest showcase game events of the summer - The Area Code games in California.

Former ScoutStop and Blizzard players such as Logan Shore (Florida), Pat Kelly (Nebraska/Twins), Joe Loftus (Vanderbilt/Arizona), Ryan Diers (St. Cloud State) and Brent Stong (Bradley) all played on the Area Code team.

"The White Sox are excited to be in Minnesota for our Area Code tryout," White Sox Area Scout, JJ Lally said.  "We expect players not only from Minnesota but North and South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska and even Canada here."

The Area Code is an invite-only event.  Players must either get a recommendation from a scout or a coach to participate.  Players can also qualify by attending the Midwest Showcase on June 16th.
