The BlueLove Holiday Party has two goals this year. The first is host some fundraising events that include a Holiday Party and a Golf Tournament for the wonderful people who have made our program so special. The second is to add an element of fundraising to ensure that our special program is available to more wonderful people.
Our program's focus has always been on player ability, not a family's ability to pay. But we know there is real stress created for some baseball families because of the cost of our sport. We have a history of helping families who need assistance, whether with program fees, travel fees, spikes, or a glove. Those efforts are somewhat known, but the goal is to make that support clear and organized, as well as help alleviate any of that initial stress.
Blizzard Baseball is full of caring people who live out our program's mission in their actions daily. This is driving the creation of the BlueLove Project, and funds being raised at this event will be utilized to make an impact on the lives of players - and their families - in the same way we have worked to make a positive impact on yours.
Blizzard Alumni and current New York Met Drew Gilbert has committed a founding amount of $10,000 to this program, as he believes in the difference it can make in young people's future. We are humbled and grateful for this gift, and just as passionate as Drew on the baseball field about getting the BlueLove Project started.
We look forward to being with you at our celebration events, and working together to further launch the BlueLove Project.
