RHP Parker Gilchrist (2022, Stillwater)

The Minnesota Blizzard earned their 92nd, 93rd, 94th and 95th Blizzard program title these past two weekends while seven other Blizzard teams 13u - 18u finished in the top three.

Here is a quick run down of the past two weekends in the Blizzard program !

August 16-18 was the inaugural Prospect Select Twin Cities Classic where the Varsity Red earned Runner-Up and Varsity Black earned 3rd Place after two 4-0 pool play finishes.

Coach Graig Weber on Blizzard Varsity Black's performance in the Prospect Select

"I really liked the way the team competed all weekend long.  The guys seem to be really gelling together already.  I'm excited to see what kind of noise these guys can make in tournaments all year long!"

Blizzard Varsity Red player Sam Baker (Lakeville North) ...

"The tournament was very organized and the best coaches I've ever had and the most competitive team I have been on!"

The Blizzard Black 16u fell to Blizzard Blue 16u in the semi final 7-6 before the Blizzard Blue 16u topped the Minnesota Icemen 6-3 to claim the Blizzard's first tournament title of the 2019-2020 season.

Blizzard Blue 16u player Ragan Pinnow (River Falls, WI) ...

"The tournament was very competitive and super organized.  It's a great team to be a part of and my teammates feel like brothers.  The tournament was very fun!"

This past weekend, the 13u Blue, 14u Blue, 15u Blue all took home titles in the Annual ScoutStop August Select Tournament where after pool play, our teams (11u-15u) were a combined 34-8-1.

Blizzard Gold 14u Gold coach John Barclay on their weekend success ...

"Our kids battled their butts off all weekend.  After going 3-1 in pool play, we gave ourselves a pretty good shot.  Our semi-final game was epic and we came up just short in our 15-14 loss against a good Millers team.  I can't wait for the fall."

Blizzard 13u Blue coach Lonnie Robinson on their team make-up.

"We have a lot of new guys on the team and I was wondering how they were going to react on their first weekend.  After a game one loss to the 13u Gold Blizzard team, I think we averaged almost 12 runs per game.  Our offense clicked and we will continue to hit it hard in practice with defense and pitching.  This team is only going to get better."

Blizzard 15u Black coach Ryan Burmeister on his team grinding out wins ...

"We battled this past weekend.  We were pretty aggressive offensively which I liked and our defense was pretty good and will get better.  For the first weekend of playing together, I was really pleased in our effort.  Our 2-1 win in our fourth game was probably the most impressive as it was a pitcher's dual that took about 70 minutes.  Our pitchers did great on getting ahead and staying ahead.  We scrapped a couple across and that's all it took.  Our semi-final game was good, but I think we just ran out of a little gas.  There is a lot to look forward to with this team.  For many of them it is their first time together and they just clicked.  Our August instructs have been paying off!  I'm excited for the rest of the season."
