Minnesota Blizzard take home tournament championship #100 this past weekend

The Minnesota Blizzard's success has been a bi-product of really one thing - the players!

Starting in 2003 until present day with players such as Joe Loftus, Max Casper, Andy Johnson, Scott Splett, Pat Kelly, Lucas Sccochia, Jake Kuschke, Kasey Ralston, David Goggin, Anthony Mrosla, Drew Fearing, Jordan Joseph, Trevor Moses, Johnny Price, Gehrig Chambless, Cole Albers, Will Rog, Nick Juaire, Tommy Springer, Maddux Baggs .... and many, many, many more who all deserve to have their NAMES ON HERE.

Teamwork, sportsmanship, hard work, loyalty, energy, synergism and family all come to mind when thinking about the players who have played in the Blizzard.

The stories.  The van rides.  The hotel stays.  The team bonding.  The life long friendships after baseball.  Those things are way more important than wins, championships, banners and trophies.

The wins are great, but playing for each other is something that sometimes you can only learn through sports and this great game.  Failure and mistakes have made us better and something that should never be undervalued.

Thank you to the alumni parents, current parents and parents who are entering the Blizzard program for the first time.  Your support means everything.

Thank you to the coaches.  I wouldn't be here without you and your leadership has taken the program to new levels that enlightens me to this day.

The distance from our first tournament to this past weekend has taught me many things - especially gratitude.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this crazy dream I had 17 years ago.

I'm looking forward to great times ahead.  See you at tryouts !

Summer Update

In the past two weekends, our teams have competed very well !

Our 12u Blue, 13u Blue, 13u Black all took 3rd Place in the CIS Great 8 while this past week the Blizzard Black 15u and 16u earned 3rd Place in Perfect Game's Firecracker Championships in St. Louis, MO.

The Blizzard Blue 16u Blue team beat the Blizzard Black 16u in the semi finals before winning the program's 100th tournament championship 15-2 over the Missouri Gators (picture above).  They narrowly earned the milestone before the Blizzard Blue Varsity team went 3-0 the final day winning their championship game 9-1 in their 7pm Sunday clash vs. Missouri Bandits.

Both the Blizzard Red and Blue teams went 2-2 while the Varsity Black went 1-3 but lost their 3 games by only one run.  Among many offensive and defensive highlights, Blizzard Black 17u RHP Andrew Boeser (2021 Moundsview) threw the program's first summer no-hitter striking out 9.  Boeser, who is 87-90, is uncommitted and a very strong follow.

Tryouts start next week!  Get signed up soon !
