Minnesota Blizzard take home 9 championships
in August, four top-four finishes to cap off first month of the Blizzard season.

Part 1 of 2 (2 of 2 coming tomorrow)

The Minnesota Blizzard had quite the month of August up and down their age groups winning 9 championships while finishing in top top three in the USSSA Summer Select, Prospect Select Twin Cities Classic and the AFBL Series #1.

Blizzard 10u
Coaches Isaiah Lufkin | Teddy Broxterman

While the 10u team didn't win a championship, their scoring is off the charts. These young whipper snappers have scored 85 runs in seven games led by Easton Lutteke (Altoona, WI) who is hitting a whopping .786 this year.

Blizzard 11u (2 championships)
Coaches Matt Crusan | Teague Bogenholm

"Order in the court!" (congrats to Coach Crusan for passing the bar exam!)

This 11u team have won their first two tournaments. After losing their first game of the year, this team has gone on a tear and hasn't looked back. Connor Flannagan (Lake Elmo, MN) has a 0.00 ERA in 6IP with 10Ks while Miles Tomaszewski (Cleveland, MN) is hitting .556 with 5 2Bs and 8 RBI.

Blizzard Blue 12u (1 championship)
Coaches Ethan Mocchi | Cole Hutchinson

While Coach Mocchi and Hutch are trying to lead the Champlin Park LoGators to their first-ever amateur state championship this upcoming weekend, they might want to get some lessons from their 12u team after their 5-1 start including a championship in the USSSA Summer Select.

Noah Riegelman (Red Wing, MN) is hitting .800. Is that even real? Meanwhile, Parker Reckin (Hudson, WI) (.636), Tyler Beulieau (Hudson, WI) (.545) and Vinny Bohle (North Oaks, MN) (.500) are putting up Ohtani-type numbers.
Coach Mocchi and Hutch - are you taking notes?

Blizzard Gold 12u (1 3rd Place)
Coaches Max Ploof | Seth Goplen

Don't call it a come back. After going 1-3 week 1, the 12u had a 'gold rush' finishing 3rd in the AFBL Series #1 going 2-0 in bracket play before losing 9-6 in their semi-final game.

Jackson Dowd is hitting .571 and Aaron Lenarz .500 (Alexandria, MN) are leading the charge while Anthony Berends (Wilson, WI) has struck out 6 in 7 innings of work.

Blizzard Blue 13u (2 championships)
Coaches Trig Peters | Bryan Sanchez

Welcome back from your final deployment, Coach Trig!

Can this team be stopped? They outscored some legit opponents 55-5 this past weekend and have 4 players hitting over .500 including Easton Ahrens (Delano, MN), Tyler Beck (Farmington, MN), Brady Keane (Blaine, MN) and Ryan Endrizzi (Roseville, MN).

Oscar Waisanen (Chaska, MN) and Mark Susa (Hudson, WI) have led the way on the mound amassing 16Ks in 15 IP.

Blizzard Black 13u
Coaches David Gurewitz | Zack Farmer

The Blizzard Black 13u is hitting their stride. Watch out for these hitters. Zack Bostrom (Duluth, MN), Nathan Barclay (Inver Grove Heights, MN), RJ Madison (Shoreview, MN), Max Prideaux (Shorview, MN) and Robbie Babcock (Stillwater, MN) are all hitting over .400. Babcock and Prideaux are leading the staff with 21Ks over 12.1 innings pitched.

Blizzard Gold 13u
Coaches Bo Lovdahl | Jaeden Kenward

The Blizzard Gold has scored 40 runs in their first six games led by Tate Hartmann (Red Wing, MN) who is hitting .667 and leading his team in steals with 3. Speaking of the .400 club, Mitchell Pierskalla (Blaine, MN), Cooper Madison (Stillwater, MN) and Aniston Khoury (Woobury, MN) are all hitting over .400 on the season. Tate Shelstad (Red Wing, MN) has struck out 7 over 5 innings of work while Elliot Paidin (Roseville, MN) hasn't made a single error over his eight total chances in the field.

Blizzard Blue 14u (1 championship)
Coaches Jesse Tollefson | Max Ploof

The Blizzard Blue 14u team won their first wood-bat tournament in Prospect Select's Twin Cities Classic where they squeeked by Blizzard Black 14u in the championship game in a tight 6-5 game at the University of Northwestern.

Jackson Glancey (Shorview, MN) is hitting .429 while Sam Abrahamson (Hudson, WI) is hitting .409 including 3 2Bs. Abrahamson has also led the way on the mound pitching 9 innings while striking out 8.

Blizzard Black 14u (1 championship, 1 Runner-Up)
Coaches Austin Hanson | Parker Mullenbach

Blizzard Black are 9-1 with their only loss coming in a 6-5 championship game in the Prospect Select Twin Cities Classic.

This team has dominated from the beginning including a revenge quarter-final 6-4 win against peer rivals 14u Blue in the AFBL Series #1 before winning their semi-final and championship by scores of 16-7 and 13-2, respectively.

It's been a combined effort as everyone on the team is hitting near or above .300. Connor Cusick (Elk River, MN) is hitting .450, Colin Fike (Bloomington, MN) is hitting.424 while Henry Saunders (Edina, MN) and Brendan Koester (Inver Grove Heights, MN) are hitting .417 and .414, respectively.

Koester and Charlie Mueller (Roseville, MN) have done the heavy lifting on the mound pitching 21 innings while striking out 17. Batters are hitting a sub .178 off both.

Blizzard Gold 14u
Coaches Michael Jensen | Devon Davis

The 14u Gold is looking to catch their stride as they went 1-2 this past weekend the AFBL Series #1. Their 7-3 win saw an errorless game and Peter Adie (Shorview, MN) go 2-for-4 with 4 RBI. Lorenzo Ramos (West St. Paul) has been killing it at the plate hitting .500 along with Adie (.500). Jackson Tretter (Shorview, MN) is hitting .364 while Landon McQuade (River Falls, WI) is hitting .357. Max Amundson (Roseville, MN) has struck out 7 in his last 7 innings pitched while Ryley Wuebkers (St. Michael) has struck out 7 in 4 innings pitched.
