Twin Cities Orthopedics Spotlight & Featured Player: Parker Reckin (13U)

Awards: Voted 2021 Joe Loftus Top Hitter by his teammates on 12U BLUE. Voted 2020 Joe Loftus Top Hitter by his teammates on 11U American

Parents: Lonnie & Gabrielle – super fun couple that is very passionate and supportive of the Blizzard program and everyone involved. This past spring it was great getting to know them and that carried over into the fall when they showed up in River Falls to watch 14 Black play in the Prospect Select Tourney. It again shows how the support the families within the Club show one another goes beyond the team there son is on (carries into association ball, back to club seasons and even over into other sports).

History: Although I have to admit I think he is one of the quietest players I have encountered within the Blizzard program his game is extremely loud (just because you don’t “hear” him he is out there "Reckin" things). Parker makes his presence known on the field as soon as he steps into the batters box. Although not physically intimidating do not let his size fool you, Parker can provide a punch all over the field with constant barrels and line drives and once on the base paths giddy-up! We saw Parker hit a couple inside the park homeruns last year in AZ when playing up with 13U Black and he made them look easy. In the field Parker can play everywhere, super versatile (always a positive). He catches, plays middle infield, with his speed can roam the outfield and he pitches. If you’re ever in a bind a player like Parker is exactly what you want to have because he is willing to do whatever you ask and is comfortable playing any position.

Fun Fact: His little brother Mason is one of the best bat-boys. He even went through the pre-game warmups with the boys in AZ. He will be fun to watch when he makes the jump from bat-boy to player. As they always say the younger siblings learn a lot from older siblings…if that holds true look out for big Mason to take over.
