Blizzard Gold 2016 wins thriller over Blizzard Gold 2017 5-3 in KC Fall Championships

1st championship of the season is Blizzard's 50th crown

The Minnesota Blizzard Gold 2016 won a thriller over the Minnesota Blizzard Gold 2017 after a one-week delayed championship game from Kansas City's Fall Championships.

The championship game was played at Northwestern College where both teams traded zeros for the first three frames.  Both teams traded a single run in the fourth inning.  Blizzard Gold 2016 pulled ahead for good in the 6th inning as Logan Hile hit a 2R double after Kyle Bode had the go ahead single.  Wyatt Wiltgen was the winning pitcher while Mitch Nordin earned the save.

This is the Blizzard program's 50th tournament championship since 2003 and the 131st time a team has finished in the top four.

Both teams will be competing in the LVBA Desert Fall Classic next week.  The Blizzard Gold 2016 (Blue) and the Blizzard Gold 2017 (Red) will start their first DH on Friday.
