Teams in Minnesota and Midwest will have the ability to play in Perfect Game tournaments closer to home starting in 2016.

ScoutStop and Perfect Game Baseball Association (PGBA) have announced a partnership that allows the ScoutStop to run PGBA tournaments in the state of Minnesota.

Perfect Game, the premier leader in tournaments and showcases in the United States, govern many of the highest level tournaments (ages 12u-18u) in the country including the WWBA tournaments at several MLB Spring Training Facilities as well as their newly-constructed facility in Atlanta, GA – Lake Point.

One of the goals of the PGBA in Minnesota is the future growth of tournaments and allow players who participate in these tournaments to add more data to their Perfect Game profile.

The first PGBA event will be the 1st Annual Minnesota Championships held August 19th-21st in the Twin Cities.  The tournament will be a 4-game guarantee, wood bat tournament and open to all varsity teams.

“We are excited to bring the PGBA into Minnesota this summer,” Perfect Game’s VP of Tournaments Taylor McCollough said.  “We have known Adam for several years and believe that he will turn this event into a staple in the early fall tournament schedule.”

Adam Barta, owner ScoutStop, is excited to bring PGBA to Minnesota.

“There are a lot of teams that are traveling outside of Minnesota to high-level tournaments,” Barta said.  “This allows Minnesota and Midwest teams to offer their clubs the ability to stay in-state.  We are going to give highly competitive club teams the ability to play in the Perfect Game tournament format and be able to offer all the bells and whistles that go along with it including profiles, tournament statistics and all-tournament teams.”

“We are excited to add the PGBA Minnesota State Championship to the already successful ScoutStop August Select Tournament and Labor Day tournament as elite events in the state.”
