Recent 2017 Commits

Three more Blizzard players have committed to play college baseball in the 2016-2017 season.

OF Noah Winkelman (2017-Foley, MN)
College Commit: NW Florida State CC
is power-hitting, tools-packed outfielder and has recently committed to NW Florida State CC, a top-ranked junior college.   Winkelman, who runs a sub 7 60 and is 90+ from the outfield is a very projectable athlete who has serious bat speed and been a Blizzard middle-of-the-order hitter since his first days with the 12u team.

RHP / C Zach Smith (2017-Marshall (Rochester), MN)
College Commit: NDSU
Smith is a RHP who works between 84-87 with an above-average CV and a great CH although don't count him out as a two-way player as he is an above average catcher, especially receiving and blocking.  Plays hard and has many hard-nosed similarities to Blizzard Alum and current NDSU SS, Drew Fearing.

RHP Gabe Pilla (2017-Academy of Holy Angels, MN)
College Commit: NDSU
In Pilla's most recent outing in the ScoutStop August Select, Pilla was 87-90 with a plus CV and a developing CH that is very effective against LHH.  Pilla, a workhorse in the weight room, has added 12mph in the last year+ going from 75mph to sitting 85-87.

The Minnesota Blizzard now has 11 committed players in the 2017 class, eight of which have played with the Blizzard for five or more years.
