4 Blizzard Alumni taken in MLB Draft

LHP Aaron Rozek signs with Frontier League franchise - Southern Illinois Minors

4 players drafted and one signs Free Agent contract in Frontier League


Four Blizzard Alumni were taken in this years Major League Baseball Draft as well as one player who signed a free agent contract with the Southern Illinois Miners, a Frontier League franchise.
 
OF Jacob Rhinesmith 18th Round Wash. Nationals
LHP Kellen Rholl 25th Round Cleveland Indians
RHP-SS Seth Halvorsen 30th Round MN Twins
RHP Aidan Maldonado 38th Round Milwaukee Brewers
LHP Aaron Rozek Free Agent S. Illinois Minors
 
47 Blizzard Alumni have either been taken in the Major League Draft or signed a professional contract with an independent team since 2008. This marks the fourth highest amount of Blizzard players taken in the draft.  In 2016, 10 Blizzard Alums were taken in the draft and in 2014, 9 players were taken while in 2015, 6 players were taken.
 

Rhinesmith, Rholl and Rozek will all likely sign professional contracts while Halvorsen (Missouri) and Maldonado (Illinois) will be headed to school to start their college career.
