The Blizzard Elite Baseball program is partnering with MindStrong Project – a company who’s mission is to build powerful platforms of sustainability and confidence through the discovery of PURPOSE, the strength of STANDARDS, the creation of SYSTEMS, and the clarity of VISION.
“Since 2003, we have built our program around two things – people and culture,” Owner Adam Barta said. “Our Blizzard Big 5, which are our guidelines to our program, has been a huge part of how we teach the game and it filters over into real life. MindStrong brings the Blizzard Big 5 aspect to these players in ways they have never seen before which is something I’m excited to bring to these kids’ lives.”
The MindStrong Project was developed through the process of helping young athletes find their “why” and play with purpose. It has turned into a leadership group represented by multiple amateur and professional athletes in the Minneapolis area. The leadership group was developed with the intent of building awareness towards leadership qualities and volunteer opportunities within their community.
“We are extremely excited and honored to work alongside the Blizzard and their athletes,” MindStrong Founder Harvey Martin said. “We have built a relationship with Blizzard for the past few years and the respect we have for their organization aligned right with our values.”
“One of our biggest curiosities has always been to discover how to measure the mental awareness of athletes and develop progressive tools they can use to compete in the moment with confidence,” Martin said. “We look forward to bringing the tools we’ve developed and sustained to even help individuals in life outside their respective sport.”
The partnership will kick off with Mind Strong being a part of our Blizzard Elite Hitting and Development training to be held at the Blizzard Baseball Academy in Vadnais Heights. Over the course of 10 weeks, the Blizzard Elite Hitting program will dedicate time to the ‘other side’ of hitting by enhancing the mental side of the game.
In addition, throughout the course of the year, Mind Strong will be a part of the Blizzard Elite program and integrate into the program’s focus of remaining one of the top baseball organizations in the country.”
“I think Harvey said it best,” Barta said. “when he stated that we are trying to find the world’s best ways of thinking, the best solutions to live with meaning and the best tools to structure each day.”
