Eddie Gerald is a veteran coach and former professional outfielder who brings over a decade of coaching experience — and 17 years of professional playing experience — to the Minnesota Blizzard Baseball Academy. Originally from North Carolina, Eddie was drafted in 1989 and went on to build a long and respected career in the game before transitioning into coaching full-time.

Eddie has been a part of the Blizzard program for over 10 years and has also coached with Minnesota Classic and Eastview High School. His philosophy is all about putting players in the best position to succeed — physically, mentally, and emotionally. He believes in challenging athletes, setting high expectations, and backing it all with support and structure.

Though not a Blizzard alum himself, Eddie has become a cornerstone of the program, joining at the invitation of Blizzard founder Adam Barta. His professional insights and calm, clear teaching style have helped shape countless players both on and off the field.

Outside of baseball, Eddie enjoys watching movies and spending time relaxing when he’s not working with athletes. His wisdom, leadership, and deep love for the game make him one of the most experienced and impactful coaches in the Blizzard system.
