Mitchell Novak is a sharp, competitive coach with a strong foundation in player development and game fundamentals. A former shortstop at The College of St. Scholastica, where he played for five years, Mitch brings collegiate playing experience and a leadership mindset to the Minnesota Blizzard Baseball Academy. He currently works as a Freight Broker at Blue Line Logistics, balancing his professional and coaching careers with a strong commitment to mentoring youth athletes.

Mitchell has been coaching baseball for four years and is entering his second season with Blizzard. He focuses on “doing the little things right.” His philosophy revolves around mastering the details, building confidence through preparation, and staying locked in on effort and attitude.

Originally from Stillwater, MN, and a graduate of Stillwater Area High School, Mitch played Blizzard baseball in his younger years before high school — a connection that made him want to return to give back. He’s also coached with Pony Day Ball and other youth organizations, giving him valuable experience across multiple age levels.

Outside of baseball, Mitch enjoys hockey, fishing, hunting, and spending quality time with friends and family. His competitive edge, calm teaching style, and attention to detail make him a standout role model in the Blizzard program.
