Zach Lufkin is a dedicated coach and proud Blizzard alum who brings empathy, structure, and player-first leadership to the Minnesota Blizzard Baseball Academy. A former catcher and middle infielder, Zach played with Blizzard for five years before graduating from Rosemount High School in 2015. He now works as a substitute paraprofessional and carries that same teaching spirit into every practice and game.

Zach has been coaching baseball for four years, with the last two spent on Blizzard staff. He has also coached with Rosemount Legion, gaining valuable experience working with youth athletes at various stages of development. He believes in balancing personal connection with high expectations. “My coaching philosophy is a blend of being professional and having fun,” he says. “I want to create an environment where players feel valued and supported while learning how to compete the right way.”

Blizzard has always felt like home for Zach — a program that shaped his playing days and now fuels his coaching journey. “I coach with Blizzard because it feels like family,” he shares.

Off the field, Zach enjoys video games, time with friends and family, and staying active in the Blizzard community. His consistency, warmth, and focus on the full player experience make him a valued part of the staff.
